Lisa C Murphy

Lisa Murphy is a retired family physician who writes in a variety of genres, including magical realism, Sci-fi, short fiction, and historical fiction. She is the author of The Wyrmstone, The Turkish Mirror, In My Father's Garden, and its German edition, Im Garten Meines Vaters. She lives near Seattle, Washington with her family. In her free time she tends her unruly and glorious garden.

She says of her writing, "I am particularly fond of language: ancient, modern, ethnic, upper class, gutter slang, the language of thieves or the idioms of doctors, the words a mother might choose, or a wizard. I collect vocabularies and marvel at speech patterns. We have delightful ways of expressing ourselves, we humans!
